Behind the Loom
Superb Ladakh is a small, women-led textile company rooted in the high-altitude valleys of Ladakh. Founded in the early 2000s by Mrs. Sonam Chorol, a visionary woman committed to preserving traditional craft, the company is now lovingly carried forward by her daughter, Diskit Dolma.
Our strength lies in our community. We work with a close-knit group of around 10 skilled women weavers, 5 dedicated women handling washing, dyeing, and finishing, and a network of 30-40 home-based spinners-most of whom are local women balancing craft with family life. Together, we create handwoven textiles that reflect the raw beauty, resilience, and heritage of Ladakh.
From thread to final fabric, every piece we make is a story of Himalayan wool, mindful hands, and generations of tradition. At Superb Ladakh, we believe in empowering women, sustaining culture, and crafting textiles that carry the warmth of our mountains to the world.
